Georgia

Hey friends! Well can I say that this past weekend was a crazy one. On Tuesday my grandfather (dad's dad) passed away in Georgia, so my sister & I decided we would go out for the funeral because unfortunately my father wasn't going to be able to make it due to work purposes. So Wednesday we bought out tickets & I packed quickly. Well little did I know Thursday morning my sister called me & said she wasn't going to be able to go with me. I freaked out for a few minutes but then i thought ok I can do this.

So Thursday morning I was up early and went to Lafayette to get catch my first flight, then I landed in Houston where I had a 40 minute layover & then headed to Savannah Georgia. I got in about 1:30 pm their time. My cousin Leesa came pick me up hen we had about a 1 hour & 30 minute drive to Sawinsboro. Once we got there I really didn't get anytime to rest, said hellos to family & got changed & went to the funeral home for the visitation. I got to meet so many people there, some even family I've never met before.

Friday was the service & burial. They got the people to do the honor guard where they fold the flag for the serviceman (he was a vet from WWII). After that we went back to my granny's house and changed closed and went to the big supper they had. The next morning I woke up bright & early again because I was flying out that day. I went from Savannah to Atlanta, which I had a 2 hour layover & then flew into Lafayette.

My flights over all were great, no problems. I got to see family I'd never met before. I'm also proud of myself for doing this on my own, & making it through 4 airports, 2 of them were major ones! Now I just need to catch up on my sleep!!
