Telling Our Story, Magazine Style | Healthy IQ

Hey dears! At the end of last month Women & Children's Healthy IQ Magazine came out & this one was something special. That is because it featured Hayden & his cousin Juanita! Pretty cool right?

Basically over the summer we were contact because they wanted to do a NICU story from two related families perspectives. The guy conducting this gave us each a call, asked us a series or questions needed, & then gave us an appointment date for the photo shoot.

I don't know if you can tell or not (hopefully not) but Victoria & I were under the impression it was just going to be the kids for the photo shoot, I mean we matched them in blue. Yeah, no. He was like ok moms are you ready. we were both like WAIT WHAT?!

So we did the best with what we had, but all in all I think it came out great.

Beauty Blender Love

Hey dears. As you know I'm a lover of make up. Over the years I've tried many different ways for foundation application. From brushes, to a silicone blender, to beauty blenders, I have found that by far beauty blenders work best for me.

I find with my brushes, which I have tried multiple brands & types, that it just kind of paints the foundation on your skin & doesn't fill in my pores appropriately, instead of giving you an even, flawless spread.

For the silicone blender, I find it works better than a brush but it cannot bend or mold appropriately to apply fully like it needs to, again I find it doesn't get into the pores like it needs to. No ones wants to have nasty open pores showing.

Now for my favorite, the beauty blender. They come in multiple shapes & sizes, but I like the original. Basically you set them under running water, let them plump up a bit, & squeeze the excess water out of it, & then it's ready to go. Wetting it helps ensure that less of the foundation is absorbed into the sponge (because it's still damp from wetting it) & you get the most out of your application. It molds well to the face, fills in all the nooks & cranny's. I find that this gives me that flawless applications look.

What do you use to apply you foundation?
